Mr Men and Little Miss Merchandise - Other BooksThere's a large number of books available, from the story books, to activity books and educational books.
Index: Links to the Original Series books can be found here The New Story libraryThe New Story Library is a set of stories written by Adam Hargreaves, featuring the Mr Men and Little Misses. These links are all from amazon.co.uk, and I do not know if they are available at stores outside of the UK, although amazon do international delivery. There are 24 books in total, so far. Books here are aimed at a younger age range than the main stories, with
specific teaching aims. Most of these seem to be out of stock at amazon,
but you can get them from the marketplace, it seems. Mothercare have the odd cardboard Mr Men book.
These are general teaching aids - I dont know exactly what is in them, but
one has a review on amazon, so that might give a hint.
This is a series of, from what I can tell, activity books, aiming to teach
the basics.
These are cardboard books with a sliding car (or something like that) along the top.
As you turn the pages, the car can be slid further along the top until it
reaches the next point.
This is a alphabet teaching aid (long lead time though) - it has press-out
letters which can be used to make up the words in the book. Although I've not seen these personally, from what I gather, this series all have a short story on cardboard pages, with four pages hidden by a jigsaw pices. Removing the piece reveals a picture, and at the end of the book, the pieces are put together to reveal the finale to the story. I have no idea if these are the right titles - any extra info is of course welcome! (email)
Mr Bounce Jigsaw Book From what I can tell, these jigsaw books appear to be not very available ones (and older) - so you may have less luck with these ones. However, they are the same series as above.
Mr Strong's Windy Day
This sticker book has a collection of 100 stickers and 100 activities
on 100 pages. The Mr Men and Little Miss guides appear to be a recent thing (2000s), These books are funny, well worth a read. They're not stories as such, just a collection of single page jokes on, for instance, food. They're aimed at a much older audience than most of the Mr Men books.
Mr Messy's Guide to Student Life (amazon.co.uk)
These four are out of stock, now. I dont know if they'll come back.
These books have a story and an additional finger puppet. For those of you that collect books, and want to get hold of specific versions of the books, from what I can tell JustBooks (in the UK), abebooks (in the US) and Nanny's Web (in Australia) all seem to have the odd copy of an original Mr Men and Little Miss books, as well as some other Roger Hargreaves books.
As part of anniversary celebrations, a special issue of Mr Tickle was produced,
with an introduction by Adam Hargreaves. I've not seen this though, so I dont
know what exactly is in the book...
